inlayers episode 3

Taryn asked the dancers to bring an object or two that represents their story. With these objects they took part in an epic 45 minute improvisation that allowed them all to get in contact with each other, allowing them to know each other and their stories on a deeper level.

when and where in your life do you allow spontaneity and play to take over?

why create anything? lol….thanks for making me laugh Taryn. This process is truly amazing to follow….I feel like I’m in room with you guys. Taryn’s right, it’s rare for this kind of thing to be seen on stage. That honesty, and vulnerable place the dancer’s are exposing is breath taking. Makes me want more….

hahahaha!! ya i know….sigh. my face looks kinda funny in that too ….but it is VERY true. that afternoon after seeing that improv i did feel that way. i felt like i’d gotten to witness a very special and rare type of performance…it was linked in a multitude of ways for the dancers…and that was evident in the performance. (which was not for i and natalie, nor kaelen and the camera….we just happened to be in the right place at the right time – watching the dancers go to and arrive in that place that is improv!) it’s also funny, i REALLY wanted to get up and start improv’ing with them…kaelen also admitted she wanted to just put her camera down and get in there as well. it’s such a wonderful thing….to be able to play and be present in life. the analogy patricia makes above via facebook about improv being a meditation is very true…..julia! you and raul should come to the show if you can!! :)
